Journey to Bhutan Tours & Travels

Cultural Tours
We Bhutanese are proud of our unique culture and love sharing our age-old traditions with our guests. Our cultural tours are designed to introduce you to as much Bhutanese culture as you are looking for, while also ensuring you enjoy the comforts of home. All of the tours feature visits to Bhutan's stunning Dzongs and temples. The Dzongs, or castles, were all built in the 1600s while some of the monasteries date back to the 8th century. If you plan your trip during one of the tshechus (annual festival) you will also have an opportunity to witness Bhutanese mask-dancing first-hand and revel in the color of the locals as they come out wearing their finest kiras and g'ôs. For longer trips, you'll get a chance o spend more time in each place and possibly travel east. Eastern Bhutan is culturally and linguistically distinct from western Bhutan so well-worth the time to get there. As it sees less tourists than the west, it's also more rustic. Whether traveling to eastern Bhutan or western Bhutan, we can also arrange homestays for the more adventurous travelers who are curious to see what home life in a Bhutanese village is like. Have a look through the itineraries below. We can send detailed versions of any of them through email, and also tailor them to suit your individual interests. Or we can develop something unique for you and your group; just send us an email.

After a night in Paro, this tour takes you from Thimphu to Trashigang, spending two nights in each town along the way. Instead of doubling back and flying out of Paro, your guide will take you down to Samdrup Jongkhar, a town near the border with India in Eastern Bhutan. From there, you will travel either to Guwahati to catch a flight home, or continue on with your journeys through India. This tour still touches on the major sites in western Bhutan, including a hike to Taktshang on the second day.
